Liberty General Insurance offers two types of two wheeler insurance.

This policy covers you and your vehicle against any damages caused to your two-wheeler during an accident. It also covers your bike against theft. So any expenses arising out of an accident involving your bike will be taken care of by the own damage two-wheeler policy. It covers expenses for repairing or replacing parts of your damaged two wheeler.
What does your own damage two wheeler insurance policy not cover?
- Damages to a third party vehicle (If you want coverage for both - own as well as third party damages then buy comprehensive bike insurance)
- Damage caused to a third-party property
- Injuries caused to other people in an accident
- Normal wear-and-tear of the vehicle
- Mechanical and electrical breakdown
- A vehicle being used other than in accordance with the limitations as to use. For example, if you use your two-wheeler for commercial purposes.
- Damage to/by person driving without a valid driving license
- Loss or damage caused while riding under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicating substance
Third party Insurance
A third-party insurance protects you against expenses that arise when a third party is affected by an accident involving your bike. It includes injury to third party as well as damages to third party property. Under the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, it is mandatory to have a third-party insurance to drive on Indian roads.
Liberty General Insurance allows you to add extra benefits to your insurance cover. They are called add-ons. Some add-ons available to you are:
- Depreciation cover
- Passenger assist
- Consumable cover
- Engine safe cover
- Key loss cover
- Roadside assistance cover
How is my Insurance Premium calculated?
Two-wheeler insurance premium depends on various factors, including but not exhaustive of make, model, variant of the bike, cubic capacity of the engine, age of the vehicle, bike usage, driving history, location, the gender of the driver, age of the driver, and previous insurance records. With Liberty General Insurance, you can check out the quotes before purchasing a new insurance policy for your two-wheeler over here.
Can I switch insurance service providers?
Yes. If you are already insured with another service provider and want to access better coverage and quicker claim processing with LGI, you can switch your insurance provider during its renewal period.
What is a multi-year two-wheeler insurance policy?
A Multi-year two-wheeler insurance policy is the same as standard two-wheeler insurance policies. However, the coverage of multi-year plans is extended beyond one year and can be taken up to 3 years. The premium is paid in one-shot, and the benefits of the coverage can be enjoyed for 2-3 years. The renewal of this policy or annual policy can be done online from our website or mobile app. You will get the option to select add-on insurance protection covers like depreciation cover, GAP value cover, passenger assist cover, roadside assistance cover, engine safe cover, and more, at the time of policy renewal. After the renewal, you will get a soft copy version of the policy on your email.
You can check out complete details related to renewal of your two-wheeler policy here.
What is depreciation cover in bike insurance policy?
Depreciation cover is also known as bumper to bumper bike insurance policy. Zero depreciation cover does not deduct for depreciation, thus offering complete cover. It means that if your vehicle gets damaged in an accident, no depreciation is subtracted from the coverage for depreciation and the insurance company will pay out the entire cost of the body part for replacement. This stays standard regardless of whether the bike insurance is in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore or someplace else.
