Types of Two Wheeler insurance available in Ahmedabad
While there are essentially two types of policies – Third Party and Comprehensive---Liberty General Insurance offers a host of additional covers.
Third Party Insurance
The Motor Vehicle Act of 1988 has deemed it mandatory to own third-party insurance. Driving without it is a punishable offence under the act. This policy however only covers third party damage and does not apply to damage to your own vehicle.
Comprehensive Insurance
Comprehensive covers are the most sought out insurance policies because they not only cover your vehicle in case of a third-party incident, but also covers your bike in case of damage during an untoward incident.
Own Damage (OD) Cover
An OD vehicle insurance policy covers damage caused by fire explosion or lightning, burglary or housebreaking or theft, riots and strikes, earthquakes (fire and shock damage), typhoons or floods, riots and malicious acts, terror activity, etc. It does not, however, cover damage caused to third party among other exclusions.
